First day in Cordoba

sunny 78 °F

(first off, this key board is awful i cant even see the letters so nothing is going to be speeled right)

Tuesday October 6th

Today I went and took a two tour cooking class and learned how to make empanadas, then went to a wine tasting and met a few girls who wer going to go to Okoberfest in a little city outside of Cordoba. It is a little GHerman town, and it is a big celebration the 10-12th, i have been trying to find some people to go up ther with or else i was just going to go alone and meet people. And i decided a few days agot hat i need to get out of the city and i need to get a little traveling under my belt. So i will be in Cordoba for about 5 days, then off to Tucuman, Salta, Jujuy, then into Bolivia for about a week. So 2 weeks in Argentina then a wekk in Bolivia. Very excited. so instead of tell ing you what i am going to be doing, i will be updating my blog almost daily.

I have my cell phone, so feel free to call and check up on me, it will not work once i get into Bolivia. I have given all my contact information and, Suzy, corey, randy, and lisa´s information to my girl friend Cami, I will be in contact with her every 3 days or less, if she doesnt hear from me in over 3days and same for this site then something is wrong. but dont worry i am going to be fine. <i have learned quite of few lessons in myy last two months. And you will all be very happt to know that i have a tazzer and i am dying to use it. : )

Wed. October 7th

Woke up went and bought a paor of hiking boots, and some trip materials. Then packed for my trip and had dinner with my girl friend and took my last hot, comfortable shoer for 3 weeks. Boarded a bus at 1am and fell asleep' thank you god for creating Advil PM. Best idea ever, i brought my sleeping bag on the bus, people were looking at me weird but only because they weere jjellaouss, curledd up in my sleeping bag for thew 10 hour trip to Cordoba.

Thurs. October 8th

Woke up when the bus arrived, i have no idea what time it was, because im pretty sure the bus broke down at some point in the night, because i woke up and there was only one other guy left on the bus and he was asleep and the bus was in a warehouse and there were people workiong on it. It was weird, but then it started moving again...and people got on. Maybe i just missed the pee break : )

So got off and went to the hostel to find my friends and check in the hostel is called Cordoba Backpackers Hostel.Walked around the city, got some gfreat pictures. and then went to the opera tonight and saw Turandot. it was ok, it is a love story placed in china, and it was hard to follow, but so amazingf thr main guy sung two songs from Andrea Bocceli- you would have died, i will never forget that. So now it is late and im at the hostel and the computer is awful and there is a great big ashtray next to me and i am going to throw -up...not too mention i am so tired so going to bed.

We are waking up tomorrow and going to Okoberfest on a bus at 11am I will be gone all day. FOr those of you that dont know there will be alot of drinking involved- dont worry we will stick together, guess what i even get a glass that i can wear as a necklace...so cool right... haha...i might not write tomorrow but you can be sure i will fill you in the next day.. love you all, ha and im sure i dont have to ask you to pray for me, you probably already are.. : )

No worries....

Daily Life...

Volunteering, working out, going out...

sunny

Ok yesterday woke up around 9am the cleaning lady came so I had to be up to let her in and what not- so bloody early. I left for my interview at 10:30, and arrived at 11. The company is called Dimnet, they work main with websites, and outsourcing web-design and advertising, etc. They offered me a three-month internship, which will turn into a position based on the quality of my work. If I accept the position, my job over the next few months would be conducting a case study and thus, providing a full report and analysis on both the US candidates web-site tactics, and the ways in which they advertise and promote themselves based solely on the website. The company wants to extend and begin doing more business within the US and also doing more business with in the political sphere here. Thus, my case study and outcomes of it would be used as examples for elections here. So anywho, that went well, it seems like a great company, and really fun people who work there, not to mention one really hot Argentine named Rodrigo – ahhh I melted…

Then left there came home changed and went to LIFE to volunteer. We went about an hour outside the city to the villas (pronounced bee-shh-us) like the ghetto of the ghetto, I am so bummed I didn’t bring my camera I will take pictures next time so that you can fully grasp what I am speaking of- but these places …..oohh….Imagine a 20 floor building completely gutted, no windows, doors, nothing….but thousands of people, families, children, living in them, using garbage and anything they can find to make walls, etc. It was an awful site to see, and then we went further outside the city to a make-do-daycare center, and brought birthday cakes and presents and celebrated the birthdays of all the children for that month. In some cases that cake was the only food some of them has all day…so we were there for a few hours then came back to the city.

Got home around 8pm went to the gym and did ABS from 830-9, then indoor bike from 9-10. AHH I love this gym it is called American Sport, it has 5 floors, a pool, and tons of great classes. And a 6 month membership is less than 200 dollars- love it! But the indoor bike class I went to was awesome- they turn off the lights and turn black lights on, and fans, it’s a great atmosphere with amazing music and the instructor was cute of course…

Then came back and went a met up with a lady names Ines, that I met off this website- she was really nice and gave me some great tips about the city, and some other places I can go to meet people and take some classes. Then, went and had coffee with a friend Juan- works at LIFE. Then we went out for drinks…ahh didn’t get home until 5am. I cant get used to how they party here. People don’t eat dinner until 11pm, then start drinking at like 12-1am then they don’t even go out to the bars and clubs until like 3am and stay out until 7am, and then most just go straight out to work… no wonder they are a 3rd world country…right…

Today I woke at 10am ahhh I am soo tired, and I went to have lunch with my friend John, he is the guy I am doing Karate with. He is from the States. Going to the gym now, and then I have an interview at 5pm with Vivas an online medical transcription company that manages medical records. The position they have open is an account manager. Ines said she might be able to hook me up with a friend who works at a boutique hotel in Puerto Modero… humm well see…
Then I am going to an expat party tonight- which is all the American’s living in B.A. it’s a wine tasting- so hopefully ill meet some interesting people. Then having coffee with Octavio- he is the guy who found my passport- LOVE HIM! : ) Then meeting up with Nico and going out… he is the first guy I met here- and the one who works at the hostel I was staying at for a week. Well that’s my schedule….wish me luck in the interview…

Ill post a picture soon with me and my new hair- I really like it!! I don’t get hisst at as much…yeay!

Besos,

BB
